Tenza is originally from Kempshot in Montego Bay, St James, but migrated to the United Kingdom at age 14 where she settled in the town of Slough. At first she had a difficult time adjusting to the new culture in the UK, but later found her comfort zone after joining the Slough Youth Centre. At the Youth Centre, she took music and dance classes and excelled in both.
Tenza developed a passion for music, which was not surprising as she hails from a musical family. The most popular family member in music being the much-heralded Jamaican singer, Eddie Fitzroy, who made a big name for himself on the local and international scene.
She became deeply rooted in the dancehall and reggae culture having been influenced by greats such as Bob Marley, Dennis Brown, Beres Hammond, as well as Lady Saw, Super Cat, Bounty Killer, and Beenie Man.
Tenza made her first step in the music industry as a member of the trio Fya, which was signed by Def Jam Records. This gave her invaluable experience and exposure and she was recognised as a bright spark for the future.
She later went solo, plying her trade as a talented singjay which is complemented by her eye-catching dance moves.
In Sweden, she performed to a large crowd in Gothenburg on the first show and an even bigger crowd in Stockholm for the second show. "It was just great. I was taken aback by the large crowd that came out for both shows. It gave me a good feeling, as well as my management team," Tenza explained.
Under the management of the dynamic UK-based TMD Records, Tenza is aiming very high. She has gained much popularity right across Europe, Africa and Japan.
Tenza is presently working overtime on her debut album which, according to the artiste, will be nothing but fun. For the album, she is working with producers from Europe and Jamaica. She recently teamed up with Jamaican producer Black Spyda for the track Waistline Crazy which is presently getting rave reviews in Jamaica and Europe.
